Join a Cohort
What is a Cohort?
When you join the ICE Incubator your team is grouped together with the other teams who applied at the same time as you.
This grouping of venture teams is referred to as a ‘Cohort’.
Program Eligibility Criteria

The team is composed of students or recent graduates (<5 years) from the University of Alberta.

The team demonstrates capacity and commitment to building a scalable business or social initiative.
A Hardware or Tech-enabled idea

We define tech-enabled as ventures that have a physical tech component.
Aim to
Benefit Society
The team is committed to acting in accordance with the program’s values and building technology that benefits society.
The Application Process
01
Online Application
The first step in our application process is to have one of your team members fill out our online application form. The information presented in this form will be used by our selection committee to evaluate your team’s fit with the Incubator program.
Successful applicants have their forms approved by the committee and move onto the interview process. All applicants are notified of the committee’s decision via email.
02
Selection Committee Interview
During the interview process we want to hear more about your idea and get to know your team. This helps us assess whether our program is best suited to meet your needs.
Once the committee has reached a decision, your team will be notified via email. Successful applicants will then be onboarded into the newest Cohort.
03
Cohort Onboarding
Congratulations! Now that you have been accepted into the Incubator program you will be onboarded into the new Cohort and introduced to the rest of the ICE Incubator community.
Now we can begin mapping out your short and long term goals, matching you with mentors and advisors, and connecting you with the resources you need.
